Physical activity, excitement, stress, eating, drinking, smoking, body posture, and many other factors, including the act of measuring blood pressure, can all impact blood pressure readings. As a result, it’s uncommon to get the exact same blood pressure reading multiple times.
Blood pressure fluctuates continuously throughout the day and night, typically peaking during the daytime and reaching its lowest point around midnight.
Given this variability, it’s advisable to measure your blood pressure at roughly the same time each day.
Frequent measurements can interfere with blood flow and potentially cause injury. To prevent this, ensure you wait at least 1 to 1.5 minutes between measurements to allow your arm’s blood circulation to recover. Identical blood pressure readings are rare.
